Hey Boomer Show
Host, Wendy Green
Greenville, South Carolina
Hey, Boomer is a show for people who will soon transition or have already transitioned to retirement and are asking the question, what is next?
On the show, we explore common fears that arise during this transition, such as fear of loneliness and boredom, the feeling of becoming invisible, and losing your sense of relevancy.
We also discuss challenges related to illness, health and money, all topics that impact us more significantly in this stage of our life.
On the show we also explore how to make our retirement years the best years of our lives. Our guests share real-life stories of finding purpose, fulfillment, and joy through staying engaged in life, travel, social involvement, adventure, and creative endeavors.
Hey, Boomer is building a community of like-minded people, people who want to live with passion, live with relevance, live with courage and believe that we are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream.
About Wendy Green...
Wendy Green, host of the most inspiring live show & podcast. “Hey, Boomer!” is serving an important life enhancing role for people 55 to 75, who are looking for inspiration to live meaningful, fulfilling lives. In her show, developed after she was laid off at 66 years old, at the beginning of the current pandemic, she decided it was time to share her experiences with other midlife people. She knew she wanted to feel relevant. She knew she still had a lot to give, and she knew that other people in her age group wanted to feel the same way. Her goal was to help people see they had many satisfying choices they could make that would enrich their lives and perhaps the lives of others.
Graduating from University of NC at Asheville. with a degree in Computer Science, Wendy entered the computer field as a programmer and moved into customer support at Digital Equipment Corp. It was at Digital that she builds and grew the US Expertise Center. After moving to Maryland, she earned a Certificate from Georgetown Univ. in Change Management. In 2005 she started her own business with an after-school enrichment program and was soon recognized as the Franchisee of the Year. In 2013 she trained for and was certified as a Life Coach. Wendy served as President of the Reedy River Rotary Club in Greenville, SC for 2 years. She is pleased to report they raised more money in one of those years than they had ever raised through the signature event, the Reedy River Duck Derby. Along with all these diverse business successes, Wendy has raised two successful children, and is a grandparent to 4 outstanding and lovable grandchildren.
“Hey Boomer” was inspired by her wish, that by sharing her experiences, and the experiences of inspirational guests in the 55-75 Boomer generation who had successfully transitioned to new ventures, she could help others of her age group to make successful transitions and lead fuller and satisfying lives for themselves for many, many good years.
